Mississauga – 11 Division’s Criminal Investigation Bureau have created a Task Force, and provided an update to the investigation of an attempt abduction of a 27 year old woman in the area of Clarkson Road and Lakesho re Road West, in Mississauga.
On Thursday, December 26, 2013, at approximately 7:15 p.m. the victim was walking on the sidewalk when she noticed the suspect running towards her. The suspect while brandishing a knife, forced the victim into his vehicle. The victim continued to struggle with the male and was able to get out of the vehicle. A citizen stopped his vehicle and offered assistance to the victim. The suspect drove off northbound on Clarkson Road.
The victim did not sustain any physical injuries as a result of the incident.
The suspect is described as a white male, blue eyes, 5’10”, medium to muscular build, wearing a black balaclava over his face.
Investigators strongly believe that the suspect was operating a dark colored Ford Escape with a dark exterior and a light interior.
Police would also like to take this opportunity to remind members of the public to always be aware of their surroundings and to repor t any suspicious persons or activity. If possible, walk with a partner and avoid unpopulated areas. Ensure that others are aware of your route and expected time of arrival. Have a cell phone readily accessible in case of an emergency.
