Hydro Corridor re-design

The City is currently reviewing the dimensions of the trail with the Design Team and is recommending that the new width of the trail be reduced from 4.5m down to 3.5m. It is also being looked at to keep, wherever possible, the existing desire lines that have already been worn in by residents. This will allow for a separation between those who want to use the pathway to walk their pets or have a leisurely stroll, while not impeding those who want to use the trail.

The Design Team has also been in contact with Peel Health in order to form a partnership in the development of this trail.

We are still anticipating that construction will be commencing in Spring 2015.

Electrical System Rebuild

November 12, 2014

Dear Resident:

RE:    Electrical System Rebuild and Open House for Bramsey Drive, Camelford Road, Elite Road, Merrow Road, Randor Drive, Truscott Drive, Wedmore Way, Wembury Road and Winslow Road

Enersource Hydro Mississauga would like to inform you that we are making investments in the electrical infrastructure in your area.

A rebuild of electrical distribution system is scheduled to begin December 2014 and will last approximately 4 months. Work will consist of replacing and possibly relocating the following: old, decaying poles with new concrete poles, power lines, transformers and associated hardware. To meet current Electrical Safety Authority and Canadian Standards Association requirements, it may be necessary to add new poles and associated hardware to locations where none currently exist.
We would also like to advise you that tree trimming will be required on trees that are near our electrical equipment.  Trees will be pruned to ensure that a minimum 3 year growth clearance and safe distance is maintained from the main power lines.  Dead, defective and structurally weak branches may also require removal.  If you have any concerns, we are happy to speak with you in advance of this work taking place.                                                                                 .

It is our intention to carry out this work with as little inconvenience to you as possible. However, during this period of construction, there may be some road access limitations while crews are working.  Occasional power interruptions will also be required as crews transfer hydro lines.  Notification of any planned power interruptions will be delivered to you in advance.                 .

For more information on how this rebuild will affect you, please attend our upcoming Open House.  Details are as follows:

Wednesday, November 26, 2014
Benares Historic House – Visitor Centre
1507 Clarkson Road
6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
(Drop-in any time)

If you have any questions before the Open House or during the course of this job, please contact Craig Bourgeois, Overhead Maintenance Supervisor at 905-283-4114.

Sincerely,
